SEZ Must Refund Concessions for Unused or Damaged Goods

By J the App

Executive Summary

Punjab & Haryana HC in Quarkcity confirms SEZ concessions are conditional — unused or damaged goods attract mandatory refund under Rule 25. Rule 27(9) allows repair/return/destruction, but it does not negate the refund obligation. Practical takeaway: SEZ units must audit stocks, compute refunds of unused or damaged goods, or effect documented repair/return/destruction immediately to avoid interest, penalties and enforcement. While giving out the snapshot, J the App by JustIDT has also endeavoured to sugest measures to tighten SOPs, update inventory controls, and prepare refund calculations.
