NCLT rejects belated tax claim

The NCLT, Chandigarh dismissed the Income Tax Department's application seeking condonation of a delay of 1,305 days in filing a claim against the Corporate Debtor during CIRP. 

The Tribunal held that the Resolution Professional was justified in rejecting the claim as it was filed more than three years after commencement of CIRP and over two years after approval of the Resolution Plan by the Committee of Creditors (CoC).
