Karnataka HC Restores GST Registration

The Karnataka High Court set aside the cancellation of a taxpayer’s GST registration and the appellate order affirming such cancellation. 

The Court reiterated its consistent approach that where registration has been cancelled ex parte for non-filing of returns and the taxpayer is willing to regularise compliance by filing pending returns and paying tax dues, restoration of registration should ordinarily be permitted subject to appropriate conditions.
