DGGI has Pan India Jurisdiction

The Madras High Court dismissed a batch of writ appeals challenging DGGI's pan-India jurisdiction under Service Tax law. The Court held that the Board is empowered to confer nationwide jurisdiction on Central Excise Officers and that pre-show cause notice consultation under the departmental Master Circular is only directory, not mandatory.
