CBIC Instructions on DIGIT Management

Executive Summary
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), through Instruction No. 10/2026-Customs dated 18 June 2026, has issued comprehensive revised guidelines governing data entry, case classification, timelines and administration of the DIGIT (Directorate General of Analytics and Risk Management Investigation Database) platform.
The instruction supersedes all earlier instructions on the subject, including CBIC Instruction No. 07/2023-Customs dated 28 February 2023, following the comprehensive upgradation of the DIGIT application which went live on 1 April 2026.
The revision has been necessitated by inconsistencies observed in case categorisation, timelines for data capture and reporting practices adopted by different field formations.
